Glencadam - 19 Year Old Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish

At the visit to the Glencadam distillery recently a chance was given to taste their 19 year old whisky bottled at 46% and with a Oloroso Sherry cask finish.

On the nose soft notes of malt and hint of wood, leather and tobacco. Some apricots, dense raisin and nutty bread, mocha cake, soft spices, nuts and soft flower notes.

Looking at the palate I must say that the nose was very soft to me and that on the palate it really seems to come alive. Loads of orchard fruit, oranges, bit of leather and tobacco, raisins, dried apricots and prunes.

Sadly a short finish but also a sweet one with creamy vanilla and dried fruits. Scoring me an 7,5 out of 10, a nice dram but a bit on the soft side to be honest. Thanks Glencadam for sharing it!
