The Ultimate - Clynelish 2004/2012

A while back Werner shared a sample of this Ultimate expression with a label stating 2004-2012. But I sadly can not find the photo back that I took that day for any further details. But looking back in the bottling history of the Ultimate expressions I find that this whisky from the Clynelish distillery is distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2012 at 46% from cask 800013.

The nose has that familiar note of a dirty wax coat combined with different fruit notes. Soft vanilla, raisins, hint of dried cranberries, pineapple- and coconut juice. Some tangerines, oranges and gingerbread cookies. This all continues on the palate, that is also sweet and waxy with fruit, soft vanilla and sponge cake. A hint of fudge and pink grapefruit, honey, dried apricots, rum raisins and orange & chocolate sugar candy. A soft honey sweet but a bit short finish. Nice and relaxing dram, scoring me an 7,5/10.
