Gordon & MacPhail - Rare Vintage - Glen Grant 1954

From Gordon & MacPhail for "The Wood Makes The Whisky" a sample was send over from the Rare Vintage collection. This Glen Grant is from 1954, matured in first fill sherry casks and bottled at 40%

The nose feels waxy, but also is very fruity like raspberry, strawberry, red apple and bananas. Bit coffee, wood and tea notes between dark fruit notes mixed with dark flower honey and hints of leather and prunes. Lovely rich and thick nose.

On the palate I get warm dark cassis notes. Sweet, fruity, thick, syrupy, black current, lots and lots of red forrest fruits and vanilla creaminess.

Fresh minty note on the soft middle length finish. Scoring this an 7,5 out of 10. Lovely dram! Thanks for sharing this sample Gordon & MacPhail!
