SMWS - 54.33 - Holidays and honeymoons

Recently John McCheyne surprised us with this lovely SMWS bottle to enjoy. It is called 'Holidays and honeymoons' and is a bottling from Aberlour distillery. It is distilled on the 2nd of October 2002, matured for 12 years in a refill barrel ex bourbon producing 163 bottles at 60,1%

The nose is vanilla sweet and citrus fresh. Some nettle and pencil shavings I detect in this between all the fruity notes. Blackcurrant, nougat, light nutty feel in it, dried fruits and cocos...

From the palate I get a lot of sweetness, creamy chocolate, black current, fudge, hint of salt, warm notes, dried fruits, vanilla and sultanas. Lovely medium length warm finish. Sweet and with a bit of nutty dryness in the end. Scoring it an 8,5 out of 10.

It is a lovely whisky for sure! Thanks for sharing it John! Enjoyed this one while thinking of the kindness shared from the #whiskyfabric and the fabulous times had with so many people in the last past years...

Approaching the end of 2015 I look back on a full and wonderful whisky year with lots of great times and meeting lots of good people. Raising a dram shared by the #whiskyfabric to the #whiskyfabric and wishing you all a great holiday season! Slainte Mhath!
