Glenfiddich - Malt Master edition - batch 01/15

Thomas got a sample from his colleague that bought a bottle of this Glenfiddich Malt Master expression bottled at 43%. Malt Master Brian Kinsman created a double matured expression that has been matured for years in ex-Bourbon casks and finished for some more in ex-Sherry casks.

Fruity sweet and toffee nose on this expression for sure! Lots of dried and fresh stone fruits mixed with creamy vanilla. Red summer fruits, chocolate and thick flavours on the nose.

On the palate it is thick and creamy for sure with loads of fruits. Orchard fruits, stone fruits, tropical fruits, citrus fruits... Vanilla, spices, raisins and some leather.

Nice dram for sure and you can feel the influence of both type of casks, balanced and shows some typical notes that we all know from Glenfiddich.

The finish is of medium length and has some tobacco and dark cocoa bitterness in the end, but that does not make it less enjoyable. But is maybe a bit too balanced? Is that possible? Scoring it an 7,5 out of 10.
