Glendronach 12 year old

Day 13 of The Whisky Advent Calender from the guys at Drink By The Dram brings us the Glendronach
12 year old bottled at 43%. Lovely sweet nose with notes of malt, vanilla, raisins, chocolate and leather. Notes that are very familiar to this distillery for me...  It has some lovely richness in it reminding me of different fresh and dried fruits and a mix of different nuts and chocolate covert raisins and nuts.

On the palate this lovely creamy feeling keeps on going and brings out lots of the notes from the nose. Rich notes like red apple, fudge, clover honey, dark chocolate, fruit cake, mocha, creme brulee, banana, rum soaked raisins and soft leather, tobacco and wood notes.

Medium length creamy finish with rich vanilla and chocolate lingering on. The whiskies from the Glendronach distillery always have something warm and "Christmassy" over them. Lovely one to have in the Advent Calender to warm us on a cold day. Very sweet dram for sure, but balanced enough, to not make it overpowering too much. Scoring it an 8 out 10. Thanks for sharing this calender with us Drink By The Dram!
