During the Spirit of Speyside festival in 2014 we had the chance to visit this distillery, if you are interested in seeing some more pictures of it please have a look here and WhiskySpeller wrote a piece on that day here.
On the nose there is sweet spice, vanilla, lemon, white pepper and creamy caramel a bit. Cinnamon, ginger, malt, raisin and freshly baked apple pie. From the palate I get creamy vanilla notes with fresh citrus over it all, like a good cheesecake. Sweet soft baking spices, sultanas, cookie dough and ginger cookies come to mind together with warm apple sauce with some cinnamon on top.
Different things food wise I see in front of me, but if you get to the basic ingredients it is all very similar. So, a balanced sweet spicy and fresh fruity dram with a creamy vanilla finish that also releases some tropical fruit notes like pineapple and mango. Scoring it an 8 out of 10. Not a super rich dram, but would certainly not mind having one at home to enjoy from time to time.
