Tormore 14

In 2014 WhiskySpeller visited during the Spirit of Speyside festival the Tormore distillery. A lovely place and if you have the chance worth a visit for sure. I got a sample of the 14 year old sitting here for some time now and with making the preparations to go back to the festival soon it is a lovely dram to think back of the good times had there then... Looking forward to making new memories there and visiting some distilleries for sure :-)

On the nose fruit sweetness with soft fresh citrus notes of pink grapefruit, lime and a hint of pomolo. Honey, wild flower notes, vanilla, raspberry, red current, spices and some floor wax notes. The palate has the fruit notes mixed with loads of sweet fudge and nougat. Meringue, red apple, cinnamon, creamy vanilla, sultana's, lemon, red current, raspberry, strawberry and Bastogne cookies.

Middle length sweet finish with some buttery cookie feeling to it. Cookie dough appearing together with a feeling of liquerish, ginger, passion fruit and pomegranate. Scoring this dram an 8 out of 10. Looking forward to tasting more from this distillery and maybe visiting the distillery again someday. Curious to see some more pictures of this distillery? Here you can find the ones we took during our visit there
