Wemyss Malts - Lime Tea Infusion

Wemyss Malts recently released a new expression called Lime Tea Infusion, exclusive for the Kingsbarns distillery. It is a 1997 Glenrothes single cask bottling that is bottled in 2016 at 46% from a hogshead.

On the nose I find fresh lemon, vanilla, grapefruit, oranges, ginger and mint. But there is also another side to it I find with some waxy vegetable notes like mashed potatoes and carrots served with some grounded nutmeg on top or stewed pears in mulled wine. Bit strange but certainly not unpleasant.

The palate shows me some notes of sweet fruits, fudge, malt, spices and powdered sugar. A fresh and fruity combination of different citrus fruits making it feel like a fresh lemon sherbet. Lovely dram, scoring it an 8 out of 10. Fresh fruity for sure but also has something to it with more depth then just citrus flavours. Thanks Wemyss Malts for sharing this Kingsbarns exclusive dram to enjoy!
