Douglas Laing - Old Particular - Glenrothes - 16 yo

From Douglas Laing in the Old Particular series comes this Glenrothes expression at 16 years old. In total 277 bottles at 56,4% were drawn from a refill hogshead ref - DL10458. Distilled in October 1997 and bottled in August 2014.

On the nose I find some light sulphur notes mixed with sweet liquorice all sorts, leather and charred oak. It is light creamy...

The palate is a mix of sweet and sulphur. Dried fruits, apricots, vanilla, raisins, milk chocolate, green apple, banana, pear juice, grapes and caramel.

Short finish with some tannins and wood on the mouth feel. Not that impressed sorry to say with it. Does not show me lots of depth, just sweetness mixed with sulphur. Scoring an 7 out of 10.
