Day 9 of The Whisky Advent Calender from the guys at Drink By The Dram brings us the Tullamore D.E.W. 12 yo - Special Reserve, a blended whiskey at 40% from Ireland.
From the nose I get sweet roasted nuts and vanilla. Some malt notes like crunchy cereal mixed with fresh and dried fruits. Grapefruit, orange, toffee and apples.
Palate is soft with honey and fruit notes. Creamy vanilla, lemon curd, hint of gooseberry, toffee, apples and
tropical fruit mix syrup. Medium length and creamy finish. Scoring an 7 out of 10.
