Blue Corn Bourbon Whisky

Number three in the #BalconesWhisky twitter tasting line up was the Blue Corn Bourbon Whisky bottled at 64,5%

On the nose I found notes of citrus, sweet dried fruits, apple, baking spices and some mulled wine. Cinnamon, vanilla, lime, clove, hint of laurel, ginger, malt, burned caramel, pencil shavings, sawdust and heavenly charred toast.

Moving on to the palate there is more sweetness and spices to be found in this full, syrupy and liquerish dense dram. Vanilla, salty caramel chocolate, Vaporub, tar, vanilla, chocolate/raisin ice cream, different fruits, blackcurrant, honey and bee pollen. The middle length finish is sweet with a bit caramel bitter also in there. Finding this one too sweet after sitting with it for a bit... Scoring it an small 7 out of 10.
