At the festival in Ijmuiden in the closed distilleries master class there was this Gordon & Macphail Reserve from the Caperdonich Distillery. Matured in cask #15180 after being distilled on 05/11/1982. In total 148 bottles bottled on 19/04/2005 at 55,2%.
The nose has some great sweetness with a fresh layer between it melted. Notes of menthol, vanilla, raisin, hay, toffee, figs, light tobacco and leather come to mind.
On the palate you can find much of the notes from the nose combined with dried fruits, fresh apples and menthol. A medium length finish that is full and creamy. It develops in lots of lovely orchard and red fruit notes. Scoring me an 7,5 out of 10.
