Arran 2000 - 14 years old

From the Whisky Exchange we got the opportunity to try out the Arran 2000, an bottling exclusive for them. Matured for 14 years in an ex-bourbon barrel #1106. Distilled in 2000, bottled in August 2015 and total 197 bottles drawn from that cask at 55,5%

First impression on the nose is that it is fresh, fruity sweet and with a little hint of mixed nuts. When tasting it this all continues and also shows a little bit of an oak note, woodpolish, ginger and liquerish. It has on the nose and palate the rich fruity and vanilla notes we all now from Arran spirit.

The different kind of apples, some pears, grapefruit, fudge, honey, coffee, creamy and custard. This one is nicely balanced and is a lovely dram to relax with. Oranges, biscuits, black pepper, dried fruits, hint of lavender in the back with the woodpolish, raisins and some dry spices.

Lovely soft, sweet and medium length finish. Thanks Billy for giving us the opportunity to try this one! Scoring it an 8 out of 10. Lovely dram!
