Highland Park - Odin - Tasting Notes

We got a sample from the latest release from Highland Park called Odin. A whisky bottled at 55,8% and the last piece in the Valhalla Collection where previously were released ThorLoki and Freya.

On the nose it carries a lot of fruit and sweetness. Rich, vanilla and warm baking spices come to mind with cinnamon, a little hint of cloves and some fresh lime. Sweet dried fruits, prunes, creamy and cocoa powder. A fresh, sweet, rich and fruity nose with loads of kitchen spices running through it, like star anise (just a hint) and nutmeg.

The palate is filled with the same notes as the nose. A fruity, sweet, bit red chili pepper, spices, vanilla, dried apricots, red apple, banana, sultana, light dry earthy note, floral notes (soft and sweet), creamy, light espresso note, bit nutty, and some heather note coming through later on.

Very nice medium length finish. Sweet, cocoa, vanilla, fruit, warm... There remains a bit dry feeling of cocoa powder, cinnamon and nutmeg on the teeth. Great full notes on this one, scoring it a 7,5 out of 10. Thanks Werner for sharing this one!
