anCnoc - 1993 - Tasting Notes

From the Knockdhu Distillery the anCnoc 1993 expression was released in August 2007. This whisky is non chill filtered, not colored and bottled at 46%.

The nose is fruity, sweet, fudge, vanilla and some lemon at first. Then green apples, lemon balm, red berries, strawberries and raisins come to the front.

On the palate the sweetness and fruit is lovely. Warm, honey, vanilla, cream, chocolate, honey, dried apricots, chili pepper, ginger, cinnamon, dense fruit cake, raspberries, almond shavings and marzipan.

The finish has a good length and carries the summer fruit notes quite good along with the creamy honey mouth feel.

A lovely dram, with nose and palate in good balance, with rich notes. It is honey sweet, warm of spices and citrus fresh. Something I just sit with for hours and enjoy slowly. A good 7,5 out of 10 for sure. Something to look out for in the stores.
