Highland Park 25yo - Tasting Notes
Nose
Raisin, sweet, warm, spices. Gave me the idea of a warm fire, when snowing outside, and you curled up by the fire, and the room is filled with wood notes from the fire. There are many fruity notes in this one combined with light smoke. Apple is very present I found, combined with some heather or moor feel to it. Also some flower notes, then the flowers on some herbs kind, a bit earthy.
Made me think of a good roasted ham, and some chocolate and fudge. Many different notes come to mind, and my nose keep going to all sides here. A whiff of eucalyptus in the back, with some tobacco, prunes also.
Palate
Pepper, warm spices, cinnamon, raisin, sweet, honey, thyme, bit wood. Tobacco and prunes come back also here. Cacao, creamy, brownies, toffee, mint, dark chocolate, lemon drops, liquirish
Finish
Medium length finish with high notes first on dark chocolate, mint and lemon drops. Develops into a liqeurish, and made me think of the little sweets called Potter's ...
Score
7,5 out of 10. Complex, balanced and full dram for sure. Found the 18 already very nice, but this one is on that same line there.
