Kavalan Single Malt

Today I am having a closer look at a sample of the Kavalan Single Malt. From the Kavalan distillery in Taiwan and bottled at 40%. The nose is creamy and makes me think of peaches with some dry toasted feel coming through the vanilla and fruits.

It is a bit hard to get the notes underneath I find. It keeps a bit closed even after some time sitting in the glass. Getting some celery, lavas (light note) and a hint of fennel with dried fruits.

The palate is also creamy just like the nose but I can find here more sweet and fruit notes. Lots of fresh and dried fruits. Vanilla. honey, raisin, dried apricots, red apples, lemon, grapefruit, oranges, mocha chiffon cake and a fruit cake with chips of chocolate in it. Not a very long finish, sweet but a bit too soft. Scoring it an 7,5 out of 10.
