Teeling - The Revival

Last week was the #TeelingWhiskey Twitter Tasting where I got the chance to try the new expression "The Revival" from Teeling out. This is what they tell us about it:
The Teeling Whiskey Company, Ireland’s leading independent Irish whiskey producer, has released “The Revival” a limited edition 15 Year Old Single Malt. The Revival has been produced to mark the opening of its new distillery, the first in Dublin for over 125 years.
The Revival bottling consists of 15 Year Old Single Malt Irish whiskey distilled in 1999, matured exclusively in ex-Rum casks and bottled at 46% with no chill filtration creating a truly unique Irish whiskey taste experience. This celebratory bottling is limited to only 10,000 bottles and will be available through the Teeling Whiskey Company’s distillery gift shop as well as domestic and international distribution partners.
This new release also marks the upgrading of the Teeling Vintage Reserve Collection which consists of limited small batch releases of very old and rare Irish Single Malt whiskeys. Containing some of the oldest Single Malt Irish whiskey ever bottled, the Vintage Reserve Collection allows you to savour and appreciate Irish whiskey at its finest. The updated Vintage Reserve Collection will comprise three different bottlings ranging in age and price points. The first release being the Revival which will be followed by a 24 year old and a 33 year old bottling of Irish Single Malt whiskey.
Jack Teeling, founder of the Teeling Whiskey Company, commented,“The opening of our new distillery was a major milestone in the history of Teeling Whiskey. It took three years of planning, hard work and significant capital investment, but now Teeling Whiskey is finally home. To mark this occasion, we have selected a very special whiskey to celebrate the Revival of distilling in Dublin. This will be limited to only 10,000 bottles and sold both through our distillery as well as our domestic and international distributors.”
The Revival 15 Year Old will retail for approximately €100.00 (GBP£85.00). The product will be available in Ireland through the Teeling Distillery in Newmarket Dublin 8, Dublin Airport, the Celtic Whiskey Stop and all good independent off licences and will then be rolled out to international markets such as the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Italy and Australia.
#Revival   #SpiritofDublin
The nose is fruity and sweet with vanilla, pink grapefruit, raisin, pear, red apple and pastry dough. It feels very balanced when taking a sip of it and makes me think of a warm apple pie straight out of the oven. Chocolate notes, creamy and rich. Pear drops, liquerish, allspice and cinnamon.

The notes from the nose and palate are very alike. It is fresh, sweet, lots of fruit sweetness from mango, orange, pineapple and apricots. Fudge, chocolate, cookie dough and sweet baking spices. It just keeps going. Very sweet, warm, white pepper, cocos, marzipan, cinnamon, ginger, rich vanilla pudding and caramel. A good length finish and scoring this balanced dram an 8,5 out of 10. It is fresh and sweet, filled with many fruit layers, that make me want to go into the kitchen and bake cakes, pies, cookies and other things....
