Chieftain's - Glenturret 40 yo - Festival Notes

At the Whisky Live The Hague I got a taste of this lovely expression from Chieftain's. They bottled a whisky from the Glenturret distillery. Matured in hogshead #91911 for 40 years after being distilled in March 1972, bottled in February 2013, at 56,9% in total 102 bottles.

A lovely rich, sweet, fruity, lots of spices and some nice wood notes. Nothing too overpowering and feeling balanced and complex.

It had a creamy mouth feel with a good length finish, some chocolate and some fresh notes coming through.

Really enjoyable dram, and got for a quick taste a 7,5 out of 10 from me, hope to encounter this one again, then I will sit down with it and make some proper notes on it and score it accordingly.
