Lovely bottling of Kintra again here. It shows the influence of the Sherry butt maturation very nicely. Tasted an Aultmore once before. That one was 15 years old. Curious to see what this does with more years in a Sherry butt... Distilled at the Aultmore distillery in May 2007. Matured in cask #900026 and bottled in January 2014 at 53,7 %. This expression is non chill filtered, natural color, and 6 years matured in a sherry butt.
Nose
Malty, vanilla, raisin, sweet, tutti frutti, orange, cocos, liqeurish, chocolate, white pepper, bit new make freshness but sweet on the nose
Palate
Sweet, vanilla, white pepper, cinnamon, raisin, nutmeg, knäckebröd, chocolade, mint, new make malty but sweet like marzipan and brown sugar. Fresh, young, and sweet.
Finish
Medium length, sweet raisin and vanilla
Score
7 out of 10. It is a nice and sweet dram, with a hint of mint freshness in the back.
