Premiers Choice - Highland Park 1986/2006

A while back we traded some samples and this Highland Park expression was one of them. From Premiers Choice and distilled in 1986 and bottled in 2006 at the age of 20 years old. From what I could find on the internet it is bottled at 40%

On the nose I find a salty note combined with heather, buttercups and wild flowers. Bit of soft pepper and honey note running through fresh applesauce and mixed canned fruits.

The soft palate has some notes of raisins, vanilla, honey, all spice, candied ginger and flowers. The sweet orchard fruits combined with a briny earthy note is very present. Finish is soft and not that long, with a hint of nuts in the end. Scoring me an 7/10.  Not that much depth or complexity sadly, balanced but very soft.
