In the Connoisseurs Choice range of Gordon & MacPhail you can find this Ledaig expression distilled in 1999 and bottled in 2015 at 46% after it has been maturing in refill remade hogsheads.
The nose has notes of sweet and warm plums, apples and banana. Stewed meat, dark honey, apricots, lemon, tobacco, fresh mint and different meaty notes.
Dark honey glazed meat notes on the palate like from a slow roast on the BBQ. Light ashy and earthy notes of roasted vegetables and roasted warm red apples with vanilla, raisin, marzipan and almonds.
Lovely warm and fruity dram with a medium length finish with some dry ashy notes but also vanilla sweetness with dried fruits to it. Scoring it an 7,5 out of 10. Thanks Gordon & MacPhail for sharing this sample in the #WoodMTW campaign!
