Recently there was a #CraigellachieTT Twitter Tasting by The Whisky Wire. Sadly our samples did not arrive in time so we could not join in on the night it self. But now sitting down and making some notes on these lovely samples. Starting with the Craigellachie 13 years old, bottled at 46%. Matured in hogsheads and finished in new hogsheads and butts.
On both the nose and palate getting some honey and banana sweets at first then some creamy vanilla, toffee, raisin, red apples, green apples, pastry dough, something cereal and full milk. Lots of fruits, malty and sweet notes, very warming and relaxing dram. The finish is of medium length with hints of dried fruits, mocha and almost lingering towards milk chocolate. Scoring it an 7,5 out of 10.
