Glen Scotia - 15 yo - Tasting Notes

In the #GlenScotia Twitter Tasting we got presented with the 15 year old expression bottled at 46%

Nose
There is first a bit salty and spicy feel on the nose, with some grassy notes and lemon bitter. Reminding me of peking duck and Brasso shine.

This put me off a bit for sure. But not letting go of it, I let it sit there for a bit and after a while it gave me some more sweetness with fruit and honey. Spice, chocolate, raisin and vanilla. Still a lot of citrus bitterness and wood polish going on in there sadly. With some water added it has a bit softer citrus and fruit nose, but still not doing it for me.

Palate
On the palate a hint of bitternes with sweet fruit. But also a high note of wood, plums, dry cocoa, woodpolish, liqourish and little bit of leather. Like heavy dark cherry notes on a heavy syrup. There is also a strong bitter herbal note like laurel and cloves

Finish
Medium length finish with a bit dry mouthfeel

Score
Scoring this one an 5 out of 10 sadly. Tried it again few days after the tasting but sadly not getting a balanced or good feel about this one. Look this one up later in the future maybe and have another look.
