The Bushmills Original is a blend of triple distilled single malt whiskey with a lighter Irish grain whiskey. Tasted this one before and had another taste in the #BushmillsWhiskey Twitter Tasting recently and got the chance to have a look at it again.Nose
Bit mineral, with a salty, and a bit floral note in the back. There is sweetness underneath with notes of fruit blossom. Spices, vanilla, oranges, grassy notes and some grapefruit.
Palate
Like the nose fruity sweet and many notes of different citrus fruits. Marmalade, vanilla, bit liquerish, grapes and green apples.
Finish
Short finish, malty and light sweetness with the mineral note running through it.
Score
6 out of 10. Missing some depth, it is lots of fruity and overall vanilla sweetness going on here.
