Santa Teresa 1796 - rum

At the Whisky & Rum aan Zee Festival I got the chance to try out some rums also and when looking up the stands before the festival I came across the Santa Teresa 1796 rum. It was highly recommended so I put it on my list to look for. Got a chance to make some quick notes on it.
Nose
Rich, nutty, fruity, chocolate, vanilla, rich, coffee beans

Palate
Warm, sweet, sugary roughness, chocolate, vanilla, coffee beans (espresso) and bit dryness / nuttiness. Gooseberry, sweet molasses like flavours with dried prunes

Finish
Medium to long finish. Sweet sugary feel and some woody dry notes mixed with cocoa powder and nuts.
For me it felt like an o.k. rum, but not my first choice sadly. For now it was an 7 out of 10.
