Connoisseurs Choice - Jura 1995/2010 - Tasting Notes

Nose
Mix of some sweet flowers and some hansaplast notes. Citrus, green apples, vanilla, raisin, and lemon cheesecake with chocolate sprinkles. Gooseberry, white grapes and galia melon.

Palate
Sweet, bit heavier floral notes, and some lavender. Honey, vanilla and raisin come to the front with milk chocolate. There are some fruit notes coming through like over ripe banana, hint of not ripe enough pear, lemon, grapefruit, and some cassis.

Finish
Not too long sadly. Bit bitter caramel in there with some nutty notes, combined with a cassis note.

Score
6,5 out of 10. The nose is not strong and mostly filled with the fruity citrus and hansaplast notes. It covers the layers underneath a bit sadly I find. This is matured in a Refill Bourbon Barrel from November 1995 to September 2010, and bottled at 43%. Think this might be giving more depth at a higher strength? It has some good notes, but just not hitting the mark right now sadly. And the hansaplast is just not it for me...
