Balcones - 5th Anniversary Bourbon, 2nd Single Cask release - Tasting Notes

Nose
Sweet, leather, vanilla, raisin, bit malt in the back (brinta), heather honey, figs, prunes
rye bread, hip rose flower, thick, asian spices, spicy cake, cream, dark dark chocolate, coffee bitter, lemon, banana , pepper, aceto balsamico, and a heavy floral note is in the mix also.

Palate

At first you are hit with a fruit and spice explosion. Combined with dark chocolate, sweet, vanilla, raisin, leather, tobacco and coffee bitter.

Butterscotch, warm, pepper, spice, sugar cane, thick heather heavy honey, rose, green apple, lemon, orange and a bit rye bread. Cumin cheese, mint, dates, cream, christmas cake, warm apple pie, apples, and pomegranates.

Finish
Medium length finish, chocolate and sugar cane feel combines with butterscotch

Score
8,5 out of 10. Very thick on the nose and sweet heavy notes but not to overpowering. Bottled at
65,7% from barrel #1499. Love this one.
