A very mellow nose, bit far away must say. Maybe it's me but have difficulty making out the separate notes in this one. Get some heather, smoke, berries, vanilla, sweet and some soft stone fruits. But not some notes below the basic high notes...
Palate
Sweet, apricots, fruity, heather, vanilla, raisins, grapefruit, caramel, woody herbs
Finish
Not a very long finish and a bit espresso bitternes to it. There is also a hint of dark chocolate and marzipan sweetness in there.
Score
6 out of 10. A bit lower due to the difficulty of finding 'deeper lying' notes. That made me think of a bit lower score, due to missing a bit of depth. When looking at the range, going from 10, 12, 15, 18 years old and higher, you can see the development of maturation and spirit. We had the luck of receiving a bottle of spirit from Highland Park, and put this together with this, and you see the notes 'grow' Very interesting to see.
