Mackmyra

Tasted this one at Maltstock and made some quick notes about this one. Have a bottle of the First Edition at home, and liked it, but was not sure about it.

So I was very happy to find some other expressions coming from this distillery, so I could try them. For my tasting notes on the First Edition please have a look here.

Had some of the Svensk Rök, Vit Hund and the Skog at Maltstock. Gave me a good idea about the differences that there are from Mackmyra and that there is more beautiful stuff coming from this distillery.

One to keep an eye on for sure, and will surely plan a visit to this one... Have a look around their website for more info on the distillery, and their products. Have to look out for the other expressions now :-)

Skog is soft and sweet, and a bit of gin tones on the nose. Like Jenever berry's. On the palate it is full with fresh and sweet tones. Fruit, minty and berry's come to mind. Gave it a 7 out of 10.

Svensk Rök is smoked with Juniper berry's and has a light, sweet and fruity tone to it.
It is a very nice dram, and fresh and sweet. Gave it a 7 out of 10.

The Vit Hund is the new spirit watered down to 46,1 %. It has a sweet, fruity palate, but a bit dry on the finish. They tell me this one is much used for mixing or just a schnapps. Gave it a 6 out of 10. Curious about this one not watered down, found it a bit 'weak', think that the full character of the spirit will be more at his best at a higher strength.
