Scapa Skiren

Thanks to Chivas Brothers for generously sending over the Scapa Skiren to explore and share around. This is batch SK02 and fully matured in first fill american oak casks and bottled at 40%.

On the nose I am getting notes of dried apples, heather honey, honeycomb, floor wax, vanilla, spices, soft different fruits, white pepper and sage.

Something fresh in the back lingering towards lemon, orange peel and sour green apples combined with a touch of some wood notes.

The palate has a good amount of heather and dried flowers notes mixed with sweet fruit notes. Honey, vanilla, raisin, light dry note of spices, dry peanuts and a hint of bitterness from dark chocolate. The finish I find to be of medium length with notes of fudge sweetness and dry ginger and nutmeg lingering on. Scoring me an 7,5/10. Thanks for sharing Chivas Brothers!
