Kilchoman 2010

From The Whisky Exchange was a sample sent over off the Kilchoman 2010 bottling exclusively from TWE.
It is 4 years old and has an PX finish. Distilled on 29.10.2010 and bottled at 4.9.2015 from cask #679/2010, producing 262 Bottles at 58.3%. You can find out more about it below or by following this link
A single cask from Kilchoman, selected by The Whisky Exchange team and exclusive to us. It has been finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, giving it a big, fruity backbone that compliments the powerful smoke of Kilchoman's spirit.
You can feel on the nose that it is a bit young, and smells like a farm is my first thought. But also has a bit salty, mineral and seashells note to it. Thick BBQ marinade and some dark heather honey also I think...

Palate gives more herbal notes and seaweed, red apples, dried prunes, vanilla, banana, malt, dark honey and peat. Dark chocolate mixed with coffee, something creamy and mint also comes through. Finish is not that long but has some sugar sweetness to it. Scoring it an 7 out of 10 for me now...
