The Ultimate - Glenrothes 1997 - Festival Notes

At the Pot Still Festival we enjoyed this Ultimate bottling from the Glenrothes Distillery. Matured in a refill Sherry Butt for 16 years, distilled on 2/6/1997 and bottled at 10/2/2014

We found it to be very sweet and a bit raw, not giving it a higher mark then 6,5 for now at this quick taste. 

It did not feel balanced at one point, but maybe it just needed more time to open up then we now gave it. Might give it a new try when seeing it somewhere for a better taste
