The Isle of Arran - Miss Black - Tasting Notes

Nose
Full and rich nose. Coffee, cocoa, orange, banana, syrup, tobacco, dried fruits, dense cake, fruits, toffee, chocolate, rich fresh honey straight from the beehive.  Soft nougat, custard, warm grilled pineapple... Just want to just sit back and enjoy, so full of lovely notes, just keeps coming.

Palate
The palate is also rich and full, just like the nose, it just seem to keep coming. Feels very balanced and there are some soft tobacco and leather notes to be found in it. Druid fruits, vanilla, rich cake, dark summer fruits, dark chocolate, strawberry, and raspberry.

The notes from the nose also can be found here. Fruity, sweet, creamy and spicy. Rich, very rich.

Finish
Long finish, the fruits, chocolate and sweetness linger on quite a bit.

Score
Would love to have had a bigger bottle of this beauty. Scored me a 8,5 out of 10. Thanks Isle of Arran Distillery and The Whisky Wire for this generous sample we received for the amazing #arranwhisky Twitter Tasting.

It is distilled on 23/05/1997, matured in a first-fill, ex-Sherry hogshead #1997/820 and bottled on 08/04/2014. Only 231 bottles of this one... This was released on 17th May as the third in a series of Visitor Centre Exclusive bottlings 'Miss Black's Bottle'.

This edition follows on from Campbell's Cask and The Dragon's Dram. It was released on 17th May 2014 and was sold out on 9th June - a record for this series! 'Miss Black's Bottle' is an exclusive cask chosen by Visitor Centre Manager Faye Waterlowe who married her husband David in Lochranza on 17th May.
