Kilchoman - 2007 Vintage - Tasting Notes

Nose
White pepper, sweet fruit, fennel, peppermint, rosemary, spongy cake, salt, hay, smoked bacon, lemon curd and custard. Some warm baking spices like cinnamon coming through...

Palate
Sweet, bit dry earthy note, dried apricots, raisin, thyme, butterscotch at first. After this great bbq notes, and crispy bacon come to the front.

Mixed with honey and dark chocolate/coffee notes it has a sweet, almost getting tropical fruit, palate. Some ripe fruits, some citrus, and good bunch of creamy vanilla sweetness.

Finish
A good length finish for sure with sweet chocolate notes.

Score
7,5 out of 10. Would not mind a bottle of that at home at all for sure! Nice and warming dram. The peat is certainly present here, like in many of the Kilchoman bottlings, and is in the front. But this one, has a good balance for sure, and has a good kick to it, but not overpowering.
